Cement Sidewalks

I walk
just like any other
the deception is quite rare.

Cement sidewalks
Dented cars
Burning cigarettes
Chatting faces.
It’s all there.

As far as you like, as far as you will.
And then and only then,
can these images be dismissed.

  1. Thanks Anne… it's funny but I can still picture the school, the parking lot and the other kids that prompted this poem. It's amazing how I can remember that but not sure what I did last weekend! 🙂
